This past summer we all took part in watching athletes from all over the world compete in the Olympic Games in Beijing, China. We watched as they tried their hardest to complete a goal that they have been training for all their lives. This kind of single-minded devotion takes a lot of motivation. And past Olympic athletes like Bruce Jenner may have helped to inspire them.

Bruce Jenner captivated the world and became the World's Greatest Athlete when he won the gold medal for the decathlon at the 1976 Olympic games in Montreal. Today Bruce Jenner is a professional speaker who motivates and captivates audiences around the world. His message, "Finding the Champion Within" is relevant to people everywhere, whether they're high school athletes or corporate vice presidents.

Bruce's passion as a motivational speaker has gained him national attention and he has become one of the most quotable Olympic athletes around. The following eleven Bruce Jenner quotes are some of his most memorable and my most favourite:

(1) “I spent twelve years training for a career that was over in a week. Joe Namath spent one week training for a career that lasted twelve years.”

(2) “If I wasn't dyslexic, I probably wouldn't have won the Games. If I had been a better reader, then that would have come easily, sports would have come easily... and I never would have realized that the way you get ahead in life is hard work.”

(3) “I always felt that my greatest asset was not my physical ability, it was my mental ability.”

(4) “If you're going to dedicate every second to winning the decathlon, what are you doing wasting your time in bed?”

(5) “I learned that the only way you are going to get anywhere in life is to work hard at it. Whether you're a musician, a writer, an athlete or a businessman, there is no getting around it. If you do, you'll win - if you don't, you won't.”

(6) “If you want to take your mission in life to the next level, if you're stuck and you don't know how to rise, don't look outside yourself. Look inside. Don't let your fears keep you mired in the crowd. Abolish your fears and raise your commitment level to the point of no return, and I guarantee you that the Champion Within will burst forth to propel you toward victory.”

(7) “Start early and begin raising the bar throughout the day.”

(8) “Nobody has milked one performance better than me - and I'm damned proud of it.”

(9) “Waving the flag at the 1976 Olympics wasn't my idea. It was too much apple pie and ice cream. Not that I don't love my country, but I felt it was my victory up there, I put all the time into it.”

(10) “First of all, I try to be a positive role model.”

(11) “To me, the definition of focus is knowing exactly where you want to be today, next week, next month, next year, then never deviating from your plan. Once you can see, touch and feel your objective, all you have to do is pull back and put all your strength behind it, and you'll hit your target every time.”
