What is in tap water anyway? The answer will surprise and startle you. The truth is not pretty: everything we ever put on our lawns, washed our cars with, dropped into trash cans and flushed down the toilet is in tap water. And the industrial chemicals, petroleum products and other volatile organic compounds leaking out of rusting tanks all over the world are in there too. In fact, there is no new water.
