5. Another Sicily tourist attraction is Catania. It is famous for its ancient monuments of the Roman Age, historic churches and mind blowing palaces and parks. Catania is the economic centre of Sicily and situated at the base of the active volcano Mount Etna.
6. Syracuse is famous in historic point of view. It has some famous Greek ruins. It is also listed in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
7. If you don’t see the Etna Volcano then you have missed something important from Sicily. It is a must see place. It is the tallest, as well as most active volcano in Europe. From the top of the volcano you can enjoy the beautiful ocean and can also stroll around the old crater.
8. You can find some beautiful beaches of the world in Sicily. Of them prime are Letojanni (Taormina), Ragusa, Aeolian Islands, La Playa beach (Catania), Eraclea Mino, Mondello (near Palermo), Sabbie Nere (Vulcano), Saint Vito lo Capo(Trapani) and many more.
9. Aeolian Islands (Isole Eolie) is situated near Tyrrheanian Sea which attracts almost 200,000 visitors every year. So you can see that it is one of the most important tourist spot in summer.
10. Another important reason for visiting Sicily is its famous wine and food. It is a paradise for Food and wine lovers. You can choose from wide range of Italian dishes and drinks. Sicily itself also has its own dishes and Italian wines.
