Wonderful though it is that London has so many Christmas party venues it does make it rather hard to find the right one Remenber not everyone is necessarily going to be into the theme and where other factors like how good the food is and whether there is a disco and dancing afterwards are going to be just as important. If you want to avoid disappointment it is best to stick to venues which specialise in what they do day in day out. With hotel events focus on those hotels with good reputaions for their food
Of the 70s /80s dicso themed parties the New Connaught Rooms Abba Reunion party catches the eye. Reasonably priced for a hotel event at £65 per head the entertainment is top notch and the Connaught Rooms is known for producing quality food. You can be sure there will be none of the dreaded rubber chicken here. Abba here we come.
Of the burlesque cabaret and comedy themed shared Christmas party nights Peacock Bar in Clapham Junction's "Put Your Boss on The Stage" looks the best A three course traditional Christmas turkey dinner or lunch for £25 (food only) with six burlesque cabaret shows, a host and a photographer all thrown in. A cheesey disco afterwards till the small hours of the morning completes an excellent package. Available for exclusive or shared Xmas parties lunch or dinner from December 1st onwards. As a multiple award winning venue the entertainment should be top notch too.
Does the boss see himself as a James Bond figure - well does anyone have a boss that doesn't? . Food look exceptionally good and at £75 +VAT with courtesy glass of champagne is good value by West End Hotel standards anyway. All rounded off by dancing till 1am after.
{Medieval banquets seem to be having a bit off a comeback these days something to do with Lord of The Rings no doubt.|The Lord of The Rings has made medieval banquets all the rage this year{} Avoid all the hotels trying this one and head straight to The Medieval banquet at Ivory House in Smithfield|We recommend avoiding all the hotels trying this one and go for Ivory House in Smithfields Medieval banquet|}. They do this week in week out and it is first rate and at £55 per head that includes unlimited beer and wine during dinner. Only grumble is that 12am is a bit of an early finish.
Finally river cruises also remain stubbornly popular although quite why given that its night time and rather chilly at Xmas remains to be seen. The Symphony River Cruise is the best of the cruise and dine options. The all glass walls allow everyone an excellent view without having to go up on deck and the 4 course meal at £75 per head includes a ½ bottle of wine. As always though don't be late as they will leave without you and you may need to arrange entertainment for later as docking is at an un festively early time of 10.45pm. Shame.
